HSC 4950/6935: Special Topics — Physical Activity and Community Health

EXHale Lab Education

Few adults or children in the United States meet physical activity recommendations. Community settings, however, provide a variety of opportunities for population-level physical activity promotion, including schools, workplaces, and churches.

Through this interdisciplinary course, students explore:

  • population levels of physical activity
  • physical activity measurement
  • the role of physical activity in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease
  • settings and strategies for community-level physical activity interventions
