Our Mission

The UF Sports Analytics Laboratory bridges academic research and real-world applications to enhance sports performance, strategy, and management.


Key Objectives

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in sports analytics.
  • Collaborate with Gators athletics teams to improve performance and decision-making.
  • Educate students in analytics techniques applied to sports through hands-on projects.

 

Key Activities

Academic Research

  • Publish studies on sports performance, injury prevention, fan engagement, etc.
  • Collaborate with other UF departments, including engineering, statistics, and business

Applied Projects

  •  Provide analytics support to Gators teams (e.g., player evaluation, game strategy)
  •  Develop AI-driven insights for recruitment and scouting

Student Engagement

  •  Offer opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in projects
  •  Host workshops and competitions (e.g., sports analytics challenges / hackathons), open to students in the UF Sports Analytics Club and at other institutions
