Engagement and Industry Outreach

Obtaining employment in the sport industry requires an intentional effort. The University of Florida Department of Sport Management provides opportunities both on and off campus in order to network and build meaningful relationships with alumni and industry professionals while seeking your degree. Opportunities are shared weekly through the SPM Engaged Learning & Outreach course on Canvas. Engaged Learning

The University of Florida Department of Sport Management provides tools and resources to support the personal and professional development of students through individual interactions and experiential opportunities. 

Students are informed and encouraged to BE RELEVANT by exposure to industry publications and conferences. Students are also encouraged to BUILD YOUR BRAND through individual support related to professional documents (e.g., resumes, cover letters), and other professional communications/interactions (e.g., the elevator pitch, LinkedIn, informational interviews/networking, job/internship interviews, conference preparation). Lastly, students are provided a variety of opportunities for RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING with professionals in their areas of interest through networking events, campus guests, student organizations, internships and volunteer opportunities. Student Involvement and Leadership

  • Gator Sport Management Organization (GSMO): GSMO is a professional student organization that offers UF students a forum which promotes both professional and favorable working relationships and networking opportunities between students, faculty, alumni and business professionals within the sporting industry.
  • HHP Ambassadors: HHP Ambassadors serve as the “face” of the College and represents HHP at various events including Freshman Preview, New Student Convocation, HHP Tailgates, Spring Awards, Internship/Job Fair and more!  We are looking for outgoing and enthusiastic students to represent our College at recruiting, alumni and community events.
