As a quarterback at UF, John lettered in 1977 and 1978 and led the Gators in passing in ’78. He threw for 1,334 yards, 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions to help the Gators to a 4-7 record.

After graduating from HHP, John joined Nationwide Insurance and now continues to be an independent insurance agent with The Heart of Florida Insurance Group in nearby Ocala.

He’s never lost his passion for football or coaching and became head football coach at Belleview High School after having coached 12 years at Trinity Catholic in Ocala.
