Bryant Seamon (BSAPK ’10)

Bryant Seamon, PT, DPT, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Seamon is a board-certified neurologic physical therapy specialist who strives to integrate teaching and learning theories to deliver innovative classroom experiences. His research investigates novel ways for clinicians to use information from clinical outcome measures, biomechanics and neurophysiology to inform precision treatment for post-stroke walking impairments. Seamon’s findings have been published in leading rehabilitation journals including Physical Therapy and Archives of Rehabilitation Medicine. His research has been recognized nationally and internationally by the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy, the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research, and the International Society of Posture & Gait Research.

In addition to teaching and research, he regularly provides physical therapy services for underserved persons at MUSC’s pro-bono CARES clinic where he is on the board as a faculty advisor. Seamon earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from HHP. He also earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UF. He completed residency and fellowship training with the Department of Veterans Affairs and his Ph.D. in health and rehabilitation science at MUSC.
