The College of Health & Human Performance (HHP) is proud to announce the 2022 Undergraduate Faculty Mentor of the Year.

DOUG DEMICHELE, Ed.D. | Undergraduate Faculty Mentor of the Year
As an instructional professor, internship coordinator and associate chair in the Department of Sport Management, Dr. DeMichele teaches in the areas of facility management and design, leadership, special events, programming, campus recreation, and professional development (field experience and internships). He is responsible for the oversight of undergraduate programs and each year he facilitates professional internships in tourism, recreation or sport management for more than 250 students pursuing experiences throughout the U.S. and world.

"Dr. DeMichele has been assisting students by utilizing his relevant life experience, expert knowledge in the field, and most importantly, a sincere desire to help students reach their personal goals and individual potential," said Yong Jae Ko, Ph.D., interim chair and professor in sport management. "He has a genuine interest in student development and always takes time to listen to our students, propose career options and then help them prepare and choose appropriate practicum and internship opportunities."

Congratulations to Dr. DeMichele! He will represent the college at the university level awards announced later this spring.
