Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs Ranked Fifth in the Nation
UF Online has risen to No. 5 in the 2019 rankings by U.S. News & World Report for the best online programs in the country, up from No. 12 in 2018. This ranking includes the College of Health & Human Behavior online bachelor degrees in Health Education and Behavior, and Sport Management.
“It’s an exciting day when we can say that our online bachelor’s degree programs are in the top five,” said Michael Reid, dean of the College of Health & Human Performance. “Online programs allow us to expand access to education without compromising the quality of the education, as students online receive the same great support and advising as our students on campus.”
HHP is a pioneer of online education with programs launching in 2010. Since their founding, more than 160 bachelor’s degrees have been awarded in HHP through online program. HHP has plans to add Tourism and Recreation Management in the future. In addition, online master’s degrees are available in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, Sport Management, and Health Education and Behavior.
Programs were ranked No. 5 based on the following factors: engagement (35 percent); services and technology (25 percent); faculty credentials and training (20 percent); and expert opinion (20 percent). The program earned a score of 95 out of a total of 100 points. The rise in the rankings can be attributed to several factors, such as having high marks in categories including: faculty with a terminal degree, affordable tuition, retention rates, and technologies available to students. This year, UF Online also earned improved scores in areas such as graduation rates, average class sizes and learning analytics platforms.
