THEM Transfer Admissions Requirements


Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management

The B.S. degree program offers three specializations depending on a student's academic interest, career goals and academic capabilities: General, Tourism & Hospitality Management and Event Management

UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER APPLICANTS

Upper division applicants (students with 60 or more college credits earned) should have at least a 2.0 overall GPA and completed the following 3 courses with at least a 2.0 pre-professional GPA:

One of the following

  • Introductory Sociology (SYG 2000)
  • General Psychology (PSY 2012)
  • Developmental Psychology (DEP 3053)
  • Human Growth and Development (EDF 3110)

One of the following

  • Macroeconomics (ECO 2013)
  • Microeconomics (ECO 2023)

One of the following

  • Public Speaking (SPC 2608)
  • Effective Oral Communications (AEC 3030)

 

Note:

  • All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
  • Unsuccessful attempts in prerequisite courses may lower competitiveness.
  • Unsuccessful attempts in additional courses in the desired major may lower competitiveness.
  • Out of state courses used to meet prerequisites may need to be evaluated by the appropriate department upon admission.

 

Recommended Lower-Division Courses
When preparing for admission to HHP, applicants should consider taking lower-division courses that will aid your transition into upper division coursework. These recommended courses are requirements for graduation from the B.S. degree in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management but are not pre-requisites for admission:
