Daniel Rogers wins university-level 2020 Superior Accomplishment Special Recognition Award

We shared the news in February that Daniel Rogers, the Office Manager for the Department of Tourism, Hospitality & Event Management had won the Division III 2020 Superior Accomplishment Award. We are proud to announce that this August Daniel won the university level award for Division 3, the 2020 Superior Accomplishment Special Recognition Award. Through his accomplishment in FebruaryDaniel was qualified to be considered for the university level award for Division 3 professionals, which include all schools, colleges, departments and units under the Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Daniel Rogers was detrimental in the separation between the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management (TRSM) into the Department of Sport Management (SPM) and the Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management (THEM) during the Summer of 2019. Splitting departments is not something that happens often at UF, and Daniel went above and beyond to learn and implement the processes necessary to divide accounts, staff, offices, and the structure for both new departments, while keeping everything functional and efficient.

Among various people recommending Daniel for this recognition, one of his nominatorwrote: Daniel is clearly a valuable employee and performed admirably over the past year to facilitate a challenging transition for our college. However, what is most impressive to me is that Daniel displayed relentless leadership and service with a positive and open mind, a consistent smile and sense of optimism about the future, and an extremely high level of professionalism.”

We echo Erika Banks, Daniel’s nominee for the award One may ask, how did he manage to do all of these things? I’d say, I myself have wondered the same thing, however he did them with a smile, always making everyone who came to him for assistance feel like nothing mattered or was more important than what they needed at that moment, by remaining professional and patient at all times, and by always having a positive and upbeat personality with a how can I help to make your day better attitude.”  We are thankful for having Daniel Rogers as our Office Manager, constantly sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm while assisting our faculty, staff and students. Join us congratulating him!
