Dr. Tyler G. James is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan. He completed his PhD in Health Behavior at the University of Florida, where his dissertation research was funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
His research focuses on healthcare access, utilization, and delivery for people with disabilities – with a specific interest in the health of people with sensory disabilities. His research combines methodologies and frameworks from social epidemiology, biostatistics and educational statistics, and health promotion to better understand the health and quality-of-life of people with disabilities.
As of October 2023, he is an Executive Committee member of the American Public Health Association’s Disability Section and a board member of Disability Rights Florida.
