HEB Curriculum Guide
The Health Studies Track within UF’s B.S. in Health Education & Behavior is designed for students interested in broad health and wellness topics, public health, health promotion, and preparation for a variety of health-related careers or graduate programs. The Community Health Promotion Track within UF’s B.S. in Health Education & Behavior prepares students to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs that improve the health and well-being of communities and populations. The track emphasizes community-based health education, program planning, health communication, behavioral interventions, and addressing public health issues through evidence-based strategies. Students gain experience applying health promotion principles in diverse community settings and are prepared for careers in community health, public health agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare systems, and wellness programs.

CHES Certification
CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) Certification is a nationally recognized credential that demonstrates knowledge and competency in health education and health promotion. It can increase competitiveness for jobs in public health and community health, and show employers your commitment to professional development and the health education profession. The Health Education & Behavior curriculum at the University of Florida is designed to align with the professional competencies and Areas of Responsibility assessed through CHES certification, including needs assessment, program planning, implementation, evaluation, advocacy, communication, leadership, and ethics. As students progress through the program, they develop the knowledge and skills that serve as the foundation for CHES exam preparation and professional practice in the field of health education
