Prospective Undergraduates
The College of Health & Human Performance (HHP) is where passion meets purpose. It’s a community built for students who are curious about people – how we move, play, learn, travel, and thrive – and who want to turn that curiosity into meaningful impact. Here, you’ll dive into the science of human performance and the art of creating better experiences, healthier communities, and more vibrant lives. HHP is the place for students who want their education to matter in the real world and who are ready to advance the way we live, work, and play.

Health & Human Performance Undergraduate Programs
You’re not just choosing what to study, you’re choosing your options after graduation. The college of Health & Human Performance’s undergraduate programs are built with that future in mind. Each major is intentionally flexible, hands-on, and career-focused, giving you the scientific foundation, real-world experience, and professional skills to step confidently into the workforce or pursue advanced study. It’s an education designed to grow with you, no matter where your goals lead next.

Study how the human body moves and responds to exercise, injury, and rehabilitation. You’ll dive into anatomy, biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor control.
Perfect if you’re thinking about physical therapy, medicine, athletic performance, or fitness careers and want a science-based major that keeps you close to sport and health.

Study how to prevent disease and disability, as well as promoting healthy lifestyle choices among different population groups through behavioral interventions.
Ideal if you’re drawn to public health, wellness, mental health promotion, or community work and want to create real change in how people live.

Study how to apply management, marketing, finance and law concepts to shape the future of sports through strategic management and fan engagement.
A great fit if you dream of working for teams, leagues, athletic departments, agencies, or sport brands and want a major that speaks the language of the industry.

Choose this major if you’re energized by planning events, working with people, and shaping how others experience places and moments.
Experiential Learning
Learn it in class. Live it in the real world.
At HHP, your classes are designed to connect directly to real careers. You’ll mix foundational coursework with labs, projects, internships, and experiences that feel like the work you want to do after graduation.
By graduation, you’ll have more than a transcript. You’ll have projects and experiences you can talk about in interviews and personal statements.
All HHP majors include an experiential learning component. In the majority of HHP majors, this is represented by a full-time semester long internship experience during their last semester prior to graduation. The number of work/credit hours for each internship requirement vary by major/specialization. Students selecting to complete a capstone experience, must complete the full-time internship during their final UF semester prior to graduation. HHP helps students secure internships by hosting an annual Career Expo.
HHP has five industry boards with more than 60 board members who represent all HHP disciplines. Members of the advisory boards represent the many facets of industry that our students might explore upon graduation. Our advisory board members provide valuable insight into industry trends; ways to better prepare students for their careers; and opportunities for our faculty and students to support the needs of industry through research, internships, fellowships and other avenues. Additionally, the College has 50+ external industry partnerships.

HHP Career Expo
The HHP Career Expo is designed specifically for our students—because it’s hosted by the College of Health & Human Performance itself. That means every employer in the room is intentionally seeking talent from HHP’s program areas, giving students direct access to organizations that value their skills, interests, and career paths. It is a great opportunity for you to meet with industry partners who are recruiting for both part-time and full-time work/internship experiences. Opportunities are available for students of all academic levels and majors.
Career Expo Prep
In the weeks leading up to HHP’s Career Expo, HHP offers career-focused events designed to help our students prepare for it. Workshops and drop-in sessions offer students resume help, career coaching, and more.
University Scholars
The University Scholars Program (USP) presents UF undergraduates with the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors while pursuing fundamental research, exploring scholarly inquiry and developing new knowledge.
HHP Ambassadors
Ambassadors serve as student representatives of the College of Health and Human Performance (HHP) to represent the college at recruiting, alumni and UF community events. They are an outstanding group of students who are chosen to foster meaningful interactions between alumni, faculty/staff, current/prospective students and friends of the College. We are looking for passionate and dedicated HHP students to represent the college and leave a lasting impact on future HHP generations.
The best way to see how HHP students thrive is to hear directly from the ones living it. Their stories show how HHP helps turn interests into impact.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
A variety of types of assistance are available including federal loans, work-study positions, scholarships, full-time and temporary employment, and private sources. The Office for Student Financial Affairs at the University of Florida provides information about how to apply for financial aid at UF, deadlines and financial aid programs.
Scholarships
At the college level, HHP awards more than 150 scholarships totaling over $200,000 annually, in amounts ranging from $500 to $2,000 per award. Many HHP scholarships are based on leadership, involvement, or need, not just grades.
