What You’ll Study in Health Education & Behavior
Students in the Health Education & Behavior (HEB) program build a strong foundation in health promotion, behavior change, and community well‑being. Help people make healthy lifestyle choices, whether it’s one-on-one or in groups.
In HEB, your classes are designed to connect directly to real careers. You’ll mix foundational coursework with labs, projects, internships, and experiences that feel like the work you want to do after graduation.
Students in the HEB program develop a wide range of skills including the ability to:
- Understand what influences health behaviors and how to create meaningful change
You’ll learn to design health programs, campaigns, and interventions that address real issues through HEB classes like:
- Community Health Methods in Injury Prevention and Control
- Culture & Health
- Health MythBusters
- Minority Health Issues
- Nutrition Education for Special Populations
- Patient Health Education
- Personal and Family Health
- Physical Activity and Community Health
- Trends in International Health
- Women’s Health Issues
