Turn Sport Data Into Insight

Develop the analytical skills to better understand performance, marketing and audience engagement across the sport industry. Through applied coursework in R programming and data analysis, the certificate introduces students to the tools and approaches used to examine sport performance, marketing and social media data.

Develop foundational skills in analytics and R programming while learning how data can be applied across the sport industry. The certificate provides a focused introduction to analyzing data and using analytical approaches in sport-related contexts.

Sport analytics extends beyond performance on the field. Through coursework in sport performance, marketing and social media analytics, students explore how data can be used to examine different areas of the sport industry.

This certificate is open to UF undergraduate students who are enrolled in or have completed STA 3100 with a minimum grade of C or S. It may be especially suited for students who:

  • Are interested in applying data and analytics to the sport industry.
  • Want to develop foundational skills in R programming and data analysis.
  • Are interested in sport performance, marketing or social media analytics.

Completion Requirements

Complete all three required courses for a total of 9 credits. You must earn a minimum grade of C or S in each course.
