Dr. Yao-Chin Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management at the University of Florida. He received his Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration from Oklahoma State University, MBA degree in Human Resource Management from National Changhua University of Education (Taiwan), and bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science and E-Commerce program from National Chung Cheng University (Taiwan). Before joining the University of Florida, he taught at Xiamen University (China) and the University of Arkansas. Dr. Wang serves as an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Cases.
Dr. Wang has published more than 40 journal articles and over 70 conference papers. His research has been published in several leading journals, such as Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, British Food Journal, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and Service Industries Journal.
Dr. Wang is a recipient of several research awards. He received the Best Paper Award at the 20th Graduate Conference in Hospitality and Tourism in 2015, the Emerald Highly Commended Paper Award from the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management in 2016, the Best Conference Paper Award at the 2017 Annual ICHRIE (International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education) Conference, and both the Conference Best Reviewer Award and the Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing Award from the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Cases at the 2018 Annual ICHRIE Conference. At the 2019 Annual ICHRIE Conference, he received both the W. Bradford Wiley Memorial Best Research Paper of the Year Award and the ICHRIE Research Reports Award. Most recently, he received the Best Reviewer Award in 2020 from the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the Outstanding Reviewer Award of 2020 from Cornell Hospitality Quarterly.
Research Interests
