D.K. Stanley Day is held annually by the University of Florida College of Health & Human Performance. It was established in 1986 as a memorial to Dennis Keith “Dutch” Stanley, the first dean of the college, in recognition of his many contributions to the professions of physical education, health education and recreation.

The day's events will all take place on the historic "Alligator Alley" basketball court (Florida Gym, Room 105).
Join us in celebrating our first dean and HHP’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life. The day kicks off with the lecture, “The Dynamic Behavioral Ecological Model & Recovery from Alcohol Use Disorder," from Katie Witkiewitz, Ph.D., from 10:30–11:30 a.m.
A student poster symposium will be held from 1-4 p.m. The day's events will all take place on the historic "Alligator Alley" basketball court (Florida Gym, Room 105).

Distinguished Professor of Psychology, Director of the Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions, University of New Mexico
Professor Katie Witkiewitz is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology and the Director of the Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions at the University of New Mexico. Her research examines treatment of substance use disorder, with an emphasis on reducing human suffering, harm reduction, precision medicine, and supporting recovery. Professor Witkiewitz is also a licensed clinical psychologist and has worked extensively on the development, evaluation, and implementation of mindfulness-based treatments for substance use disorder. Professor Witkiewitz is currently Editor of Psychology of Addictive Behaviors, and serves on the editorial boards of Substance Use and Misuse, Alcohol and Alcoholism, Annual Reviews: Clinical Psychology, and Journal of Psychopathology and Clinical Science. Her research has been supported by multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health, totaling over $90 million in research funding since 2004. She has authored 7 books and over 350 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and has given over 100 presentations and invited talks.

Learn about student research projects in the College of Health & Human Performance spanning all disciplines: applied physiology and kinesiology; health education and behavior; sport management; and tourism, hospitality and event management. Prizes will be awarded to the best posters from each department, as well as the runner up.
The symposium is open to the public. R.S.V.P. by March 6.
