Research Resources & Onboarding
A starting point for graduate students, postdocs, and staff working with CES shared spaces and research resources.
This guide helps new APK/CES members find department resources, shared equipment, training information, software, vehicle procedures, and important contacts.
Please note: This page supplements, but does not replace, required University of Florida training, approved research protocols, or current Environmental Health & Safety procedures.
Getting Started
New department members should work with their PI or supervisor to complete the access, training, and resource setup appropriate to their role.
-
Confirm your department and lab access.
Make sure your UFID, GatorLink account, department affiliation, PI or lab assignment, and required building or room access are in place. -
Complete required training.
Complete applicable UF Environmental Health & Safety training, protocol-specific training, and any equipment-specific instruction required by your PI or supervisor. -
Connect to department resources.
Request access to the software, reservation systems, communication channels, and shared files used by your lab or the CES Core Lab. -
Review shared-resource procedures.
Before using shared equipment, vehicles, or laboratory spaces, review the appropriate reservation, cleaning, reporting, and safety procedures.
Contacts
Contact the appropriate department or University resource when you need help with access, training, equipment, facilities, or safety.
