OLYMPICS BLOG 3: STILL BUSY AT WORK | 8/19

BEIJING -- Our work at the water polo/diving and basketball practice facilities continues to be very busy as the preliminary games are ending and teams are preparing for the next round of competition. Additionally, media requests and interviews have increased for the teams that are progressing in the respective competitions.

We had the opportunity to attend the men's and women's single tennis (final) matches as well as the medal ceremonies for those two events in addition to the doubles event. Venus and Serena Williams received gold medals as the champions of the doubles competition. We also watched the women's marathoners run through the Tsinghua University campus as part of the route. Later this week, on one morning, we will attend some track and field events at the National (Bird's Nest) Stadium.

We have also had the opportunity to talk with members of London's (2012) Olympic Organizing Committee. Finally, we have had preliminary discussions regarding potential options for future collaborative and exchange programs with Tsinghua University.

Best wishes,
Dan & James
