GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Numerous faculty and graduate students from the College of Health and Human Performance will travel to Chicago, Ill., to attend the AAHPERD 2005 National Convention and Exposition from April 12-16.

The College is sending 14 speakers to the conference to present their research in 16 different presentations on various health and physical activity topics ranging from after school programming to contemporary concert dance.

In addition to presenting, many students and faculty within the College will attend the weeklong event in order to continue their education through the exchange of information with other expert colleagues and by pursuing additional professional certifications.

The American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance is an alliance of six national/district associations and a Research Consortium which collectively provide educators and the public with resources, support, and programs for promoting active and healthy lifestyles. The 2005 AAHPERD National Convention & Expo is a 120-year old tradition. It is six shows in one, having programming and events targeted to the distinct populations of the health and physical activity industry.
