GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The College of Health and Human Performance’s College Council is hosting a Student and Faculty Meet and Greet on Thursday, March 17, 2005, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room 200 of the Florida Gym.
This event will allow students to meet the HHP faculty and give students a chance to converse with their professors outside of class.
“The Meet and Greet gives students a great opportunity to create relationships with their professors in a relaxed environment. Their teachers are no longer just the people who give out the tests,” said Claudette Bartos, director of public relations for the College Council.
This is an annual event held in the College, although this year, the event is gaining more exposure. College Council is expecting 75-100 students throughout the day, and all faculty have been formally invited.
Aside from just getting to know each other, the gathering provides an added benefit to HHP students.
“All students in HHP are required to complete an internship,” Bartos said. “References from professors are needed for that process. Here, students are able express their personal interests as well as getting to know other professors with similar interests.”
The Meet and Greet is open to all HHP students and faculty. Refreshments will be served.
