GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in the College of Health & Human Performance is offering a new course in Spring 2005.
Pharmacology for Exercise Science (PET 5936 section 5128) is designed primarily for master’s students and Ph.D. students, as well as cardiopulmonary students.
The class will cover the basic principles of drug action, administration and elimination as well as the major drug classes. There will be special emphasis on drugs affecting skeletal muscle and athletic performance as well as drugs used in sport medicine.
Research papers also will be discussed. This course will help students learn how to design research experiments and to interpret research papers.
