2012 INTERNSHIP FAIR

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is included in the registration cost?

A. The registration cost includes:

  • - The opportunity to meet and recruit our innovative and poised students
  • - 1 Table. If you need additional tables we can provide them at an additional cost of $10.
  • - coffee, donuts, juice, and fruit for breakfast
  • - 2 boxed lunches for two representatives. You can purchase additional lunches for $8 if more than two representatives plan to attend.

Q. How many students will organizations at our Fair have access to?

A. This event is open to all HHP students (1,500+). The Fair provides students with an opportunity to interact with industry professionals even if they may not be seeking internships or employment at the time. Furthermore, the event is highly publicized throughout the college and we offer additional incentives for students to attend.

Q. What are the student internship requirements?

A. The student internship requirements can be found on each Department Page.

  • - All programs in the college, except Athletic Training, require a full-time semester long internship

Q. Has HHP hosted an Internship Fair in the past?

A. Yes, this is our third annual event.

Q. My agency cannot afford the registration fees, can I still participate?

A. HHP recognizes and takes pride in the fact that many of the organizations we seek to recruit are nonprofit in nature. We do not want our fees to discourage the participation of such organizations. So please, ask about our nonprofit rates at internfair@hhp.ufl.edu.

Q. What if my company is not currently hiring?

A. That’s OK. HHP students want to meet you regardless. As the Internship Fair is to be hosted only once per academic year, many students will be browsing for internship opportunities that may come available in the semesters/year to follow.

Q. If a representative from my organization cannot attend the fair, how else might my company be involved?

A. For a fee of $25, we will set up a table representing all organizations who cannot/choose not to send an official representative to the event. You may send us whatever promotional material (business cards, application forms, company brochures, etc) you would like to be displayed, and a representative of the college will collect resumes on your behalf to be mailed back to your organization. This alternative is listed among the other fee options on the registration form.

Q. My company wants to participate. Now what?

A. Excellent! Please complete the application form and mail or fax to:

  • Janice Douglas (Internship Fair)
  • P.O. Box 118200
  • Gainesville, FL   32611
  • or fax to 352-392-3186
Once your application has been received you will be sent an invoice for your registration fee. Once your fee is paid you will receive confirmation of your payment with information regarding lunch menus, hotel accommodations, parking, etc. We look forward to seeing you!
