About the Center for Digital Health & Wellness


The Center for Digital Health & Wellness at the University of Florida was established in 2010 and is directed by Dr. Jay Bernhardt, former director of the National Center for Health Marketing at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Center was previously known as the Florida Center for Health Promotion.

The Center for Digital Health & Wellness conducts domestic and global research, evaluation, and training with diverse collaborators on the application of new information and communication technologies (ICT) to health promotion, disease prevention, wellness, and epidemiological surveillance. Areas of emphasis include eHealth and mHealth, defined as the use of mobile and/or cellular phone technology to healthcare, health promotion, and health education.
