Dr. Linda Thornton served as faculty member in the College of Health and Human Performance for 29 years prior to her retirement in 1998. During her tenure at UF, she was one of four women instrumental in establishing the women's athletics program in the University Athletic Association.
Criteria: This award is for a student in the Recreation, Parks and Tourism major who consistently demonstrates leadership ability, pursues professional development opportunities, has demonstrated high moral/ethical character, and who the committee believes will continue to be a strong advocate for the profession after graduation.
