Perry McGriff attended UF on a football scholarship and graduated from physical education and recreation in 1960. He was an All-American baseball player at UF. He has served on the Florida House of Representatives, as Alachua County Commissioner and as Gainesville City Commissioner. Perry and Noel McGriff have been married for more than 45 years.
Perry’s son, Mark, was a UF football player and graduated in 1991 with a degree in exercise and sport sciences. Mark is a board member of the Gainesville Sports Organizing Committee and is involved with the Five Points of Life Marathon in Gainesville.
The McGriff Family Endowed Scholarship: This award is for a graduate student in the Sport Management major.
