The James Daniel Eggart Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. Eggart's widow in accordance with his request. Danny Eggart was a 1965 graduate of the College. He attended UF on a baseball scholarship and was All-SEC in 1963. He went 10-2 with a 2.58 ERA in 1963, followed by a 9-4 season with a 3.37 ERA in 1964 and a 5-4 season with a 3.82 ERA in 1965. Danny ranked among the career top 10 in innings pitched (8th, 250.1), wins (6th, 24) and winning percentage (9th, .760). He finished his career as the all-time leader in both innings pitched and wins. Danny Eggart passed away in 1989.
Danny Eggart Graduate Scholarship: This award is limited to first generation college students who are graduates from Florida high schools, preferably high schools in the Panhandle area.
