Biography:
Matthew B. Walker, Ph.D. began his appointment at the University of Florida in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management in the fall of 2008. Prior to joining UF, Dr. Walker was an assistant professor at East Carolina University in the college of Health and Human Performance. Dr. Walker teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, ethics, and research methods.
Dr. Walker's research interests lie (generally) in business strategy but with particular emphasis on business ethics and corporate social responsibility. He has presented his research at several academic conferences and his published manuscripts have appeared in a number of academic outlets.
In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Walker has provided extensive leadership to professional organizations such as the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) where he is the current chair of the Industry Relations Committee. He is also a member of the editorial staff for several academic journals.
