Biography:

Holly T. Moses is the undergraduate program advisor for the Department of Health Education and Behavior. Ms. Moses is responsible for the HEB undergraduate curriculum and serves as the academic adviser to the undergraduate majors. In addition, she oversees the internship program and serves as the liaison between the Department of Health Education and Behavior and University of Florida Departments and programs, as well as several health education organizations at the local, state and national levels.

Ms. Moses’s research interests include school and child/adolescent health issues.  To address rising disease, disability and death rates plaguing Americans today, health behavior interventions must begin at an early age.  The most effective way to reach a large population of young people, before poor behaviors are adopted, is through formal health education in elementary school classrooms. No other U.S. institution houses more children for a significant period of time than the public school system.  Consequently, health education curriculum must be properly developed and evaluated to ensure success in the public school system.

Research Interests:

  • • Child and adolescent health concerns
  • • Coordinated school health program
  • • Health curriculum development and instruction

HSC4800: Health Education Professional Development
