Biography:

Kyriaki (Kiki) Kaplanidou, Ph.D., is currently an assistant professor at the University of Florida. Kaplanidou has professional sport management experience in the health and fitness sector as well as in the organization of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Before her current position she worked for the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada, as a lecturer in sport management teaching research methods, and she taught a course in sport tourism.

During her first year at UF, she has led two research projects funded by the Gainesville Sports Commission and one research project funded by the Florida First Coast of Golf. All these research efforts examined issues related to the demand and supply side of sport tourism. Dr. Kaplanidou has published three articles in the Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Sport and Tourism and in the journal Event Management. She has presented in national and international conferences such as the North American Society for Sport Management, European Association for Sport Management and the Travel and Tourism Research Association. Dr. Kaplanidou is a member of professional organizations such as the North American Society of Sport Management and the European Association of Sport Management.
