Minimum Qualifications for Undergraduate Applicants:

  •     Health and Human Performance major
  •     Enrolled full-time (a minimum of 12 credits per semester)
  •     Minimum 3.0 UF GPA
  •     Minimum 3.0 Universal Tracking GPA
  •     Minimum 3.0 upper division GPA (if applicable)
  •     Have successfully completed a minimum one semester in the college at the time of application

Students completing the combined degree (4/1) program should apply for undergraduate scholarships.

Allen / Holyoak / Varnes Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for an undergraduate student in any college major
  • Applicants must be at least a junior, with 24 credit hours earned at the University of Florida
  • 3.5 minimum UF GPA
  • Preference will be given to students with American citizenship who have made a significant contribution to society through volunteer work and/or military service

Andrew and Matthew Bell Health & Human Performance Endowment

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a junior enrolled full time at HHP
  • Minimum 3.0 UF GPA
  • Applicant must pursuing a degree in Applied Physiology or Health Education and Behavior

B.K. & Betty C. Stevens Endowed Scholarships

Award Criteria:
  • Must be a student in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology
  • Minimum 3.50 GPA
  • Student should have an interest in being of service to others

Bill Simms Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student specializing in Tourism & Hospitality Management within the Recreation, Parks & Tourism major
  • Minimum 3.30 UF GPA
  • Past or current involvement with the tourism and hospitality industry, outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve the tourism and hospitality profession, and demonstrate leadership skills in the field

C.A. Boyd Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student of outstanding character in any college major
  • Minimum 3.50 UF GPA
  • The recipient should have a strong commitment to serve the profession

Charles & Ethyl Mostert Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • Applicants must be a junior, with 50-70 credit hours completed with a minimum of four semesters remaining including internship;
  • Applicants must have an active leadership role in community service and an active leadership role in the university and/or college;
  • Preference will be given to first-generation college students.

Charles Fessler, Jr. Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student of junior or senior status in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management.

Charles Fessler, Sr. & Miriam A. Fessler Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a junior or senior in any major in the College.

Charles McPhilomy Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • Undergraduate student pursuing an athletic training degree or planning to enter physical therapy
  • Preference will be given to military veterans

Danny Eggart Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for first-generation college students and limited to graduates of Florida high schools, with preference given to students from the Pensacola area. Financial need is considered.

Dr. Charles & Linda Williams Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for an undergraduate student majoring in TRSM
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Preference will be given to students demonstrating service and/or leadership to the profession, University and/or College.

Dr. Linda "Dr. T" Thornton Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student in the Recreation, Parks and Tourism major who consistently demonstrates leadership ability, pursues professional development opportunities, has demonstrated high moral/ethical character, and who the committee believes will continue to be a strong advocate for the profession after graduation.

Dr. Norma Leavitt Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student in any major at HHP
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Applicant must demonstrate oustanding character with a strong commitment to serve his or her profession.

Eraste Autin Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a full-time student in the Athletic Training Education Program in the Department of APK
  • Applicants must have an exemplary academic track record with the Athletic Training Program, perform with distrinction at theri clinical sites, and demonstrate involvement in community and extracurricular activities.
  • In addition, the applicant must conduct oneself in a manner which brings credit to themselves, athletics, and objectives of higher education and have the intent on pursuing a careerin athletic training.

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student in any major at HHP with outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve their profession.

The Fagerberg Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for any HHP major
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate leadership and character.

The Fagerberg-Varnes Endowed Scholarship

Jack & Joy Masson Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for an undergraduate student of Junior or Senior status majoring in Parks & Recreation.
  • Financial need is considered

The Judith Fessler Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student of Junior or Senior status in the Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology
  • A resident of Florida
  • Preference given to married students

The Judy B. Ford Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student of Junior or Senior status in the Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology.
  • Applicants will have demonstrated a high level of scholarship, outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve their profession.
  • The recipient shall demonstrate evidence of active and sustained leadership or service in community, student or professional organizations, mentoring, and/or research activities that directly impact the community, and demonstrate the desire to continue to be a strong advocate fo rthe profession upon graduation.

Kyle Fredrik Schuemann Memorial Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student majoring in Sport Management.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5

Lee-McCachren Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a full-time student in teh Applied Physiology & Kinesiology or Sport Management Major
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • The receipient must be of outstanding character with a strong, competitive spirit and a high level of enthusiasm for life.

Award Criteria:
  • One award is for a student majoring in Sport Management
  • One award is for a student majoring in Travel/Tourism

Naomi S. Stevens Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student in any HHP major
  • Preference is given to graduates of Alachua County high schools

Potter-Chafin Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for any HHP major with outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve their profession; and someone who actively participates in tennis.

Robert & Elizabeth Beland Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a student majoring in Recreation, Parks or Tourism who excels academically and is committed to community service.

The Susie Wasdin Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for an undergraduate student in the Health Education and Behavior major with a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • The student must demonstrate strong leadership and character

Thomas F. Hayes IV Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for any HHP major
  • Special preference will be given to students who participate in the Team Florida Cycling Club and/or students who are avid cyclists.

The Thomas Wasdin Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for an undergraduate student in the TRSM major with a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • The student must demonstrate outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve the profession.
