  • Health and Human Performance major
  • Enrolled full-time (a minimum of 9 credits per semester)
  • Minimum 3.0 UF GPA
  • Have successfully completed a minimum one semester in the college at the time of application

Allen / Holyoak / Varnes Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student in any HHP major;
  • 3.5 minimum UF GPA;
  • Preference will be given to students who have made a significant contribution to society through volunteer work and/or military service.

Bill Sims Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student who is studying Tourism in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management;
  • Minimum 3.50 UF GPA;
  • Applicants must have past or current involvement with the tourism industry, demonstrate leadership skills in the field, pursue professional development opportunities, have demonstrated high moral and ethical character, and who the committee believes will be a strong advocate for the profession after graduation.

C.A. Boyd Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a full-time graduate student with a 3.50 or higher UF GPA.
  • The recipient should be of outstanding character with a strong commitment to serve the profession.

David & Linda McCaughey Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology.

Dr. Christian W. Zauner Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • For students in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology
  • Must be pursuing a Master’s or Doctorate degree
  • Candidate must be in good academic standing

Dr. Linda “Dr. T” Thornton Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student who is studying Recreation & Parks in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management
  • Applicants must demonstrate excellence while teaching and/or participating in projects, programs and/or publications which enhance the department’s mission for undergraduate education, and who the committee believes will be a strong advocate for the profession after graduation.
  • The student’s intent to teach will be strongly considered, but is not required.

Dr. Norma M. Leavitt Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for any graduate student in any HHP major with a minimum 3.50 UF GPA.
  • Applicants must demonstrate outstanding character with a strong commitment to serve their profession.
  • Preference will be given to female applicants.

Dr. Paula Welch Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • The award is for students majoring in sport management who are futuristic planners, effective communicators, active leaders, and creative thinkers.
  • Preference will be given to students in their first year of graduate work.

Fabulous 50's Hill Brannon Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student in any HHP major with outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve their profession.

The Fagerberg Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for any HHP major;
  • Applicant must have a minimum UF GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate leadership and character.

Health Solutions Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a doctoral student in Health Education and Behavior.

Herman W. Schnell Memorial Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student with a minimum 3.50 UF GPA in any HHP major.
  • Applicants will have demonstrated a high level of scholarship, outstanding character and a strong commitment to serve their profession.

Lee-McCachren Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a full-time graduate student in the Applied Physiology and Kinesiology or Sport Management major with a 3.40 or higher UF GPA.
  • The recipient must be of outstanding character with a strong, competitive spirit, and a high level of enthusiasm for life and professional pursuits.

M.M. Tutton, Sr. Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student in Health Education and Behavior;
  • Preference given to doctoral students.

Patrick J. Bird Dissertation Award

Award Criteria:
  • Eligible students include all HHP Ph.D. students who have passed their qualifying exam and been admitted to candidacy, but will not graduate until the Fall 2017 semester or thereafter.
  • The dissertation topic must be approved by the student’s supervisory committee, as represented by a letter of nomination signed by the supervisory committee chair.

The McGriff Family Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student in the Sport Management major.

Thomas F. Hayes IV Endowed Scholarship

Award Criteria:
  • This award is for a graduate student in any HHP major.
  • Special preference will be given to students who participate in the Team Florida Cycling Club and/or students who are avid cyclists.
