“The investigators in our college and the team supporting them are working extremely hard on the projects that matter,” said Dean Michael Reid, Ph.D. “The increase in total funding is a testament to a college on the rise with talented faculty, students and staff.”

As a college, research funding accounts for nearly 30 percent of the overall budget, with the majority of awards coming from the National Institutes of Health.

Overall, the University of Florida has smashed its previous awards record. UF was awarded $837.6 million for research in the previous fiscal year, surpassing the previous record by $113.6 million.
