Trip Dates: May 15 - June 8 (Summer A)
This program offers an interdisciplinary approach to sustaining human societies and their natural environments. The focus is on learning through
guided action. You will spend about 75% of your time traveling the stunning national parks, forests, wildlife reserves, coastlines, and islands of
the Pacific under the guidance of knowledgeable field professionals. The remaining time is spent in class with leading experts from New Zealand
universities, government departments, Maori Iwi tribes, and scientificresearch bodies. A love of the outdoors and hiking is recommended as parts of this program are very physical.
New Zealand is one of the most geographically diverse countries in the world with temperate rainforests, glaciers, golden sand beaches, deep fiords, alpine herb fields, rugged coastlines, and the Southern Alps mountains.
