The research conducted in the Muscle Physiology Laboratory is focused on why and how muscle wasting occurs with disuse and other conditions that cause muscle loss. Specifically, the lab is trying to understand the mechanisms that control muscle wasting with the intent of developing nutritional and pharmacologic treatments for prevention.
