Fitness/Wellness

The Fitness/Wellness curriculum emphasizes the short and long term effects of exercise in both health and disease. Students are taught the physiological bases of exercise in disease prevention and the role of exercise in rehabilitation from disease. Graduates are prepared for employment in corporate or private exercise facilities, hospital-based rehabilitation facilities, and as personal trainers..

Graduates from this task are prepared not only for graduate school in exercise physiology, but also for professional training in health-related fields such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, etc. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Physiology, graduates also are prepared for employment as exercise specialists in hospital, corporate, private or state agencies.
