Summative Evaluation Requirement
The importance of both ongoing (formative) evaluation and end-of-year (summative) evaluation cannot be understated for the continued success and sustainability of the 21st CCLC initiative. Summative evaluations are designed to provide each sub-grantee with a final document that can be distributed to stakeholders, partners, and potential funding agencies. In addition, the summative evaluation provides the State of Florida with a comprehensive deliverable of each sub-grantee’s activities and services provided throughout the established program period. In March, 2009, guidance and clarification regarding the Summative Evaluation Report requirement was distributed to all 21st CCLC programs, including definition of the “performance period” and the minimum requirements of the summative report. Please refer to the following documents for more information and guidance:
- Memorandum: Explains the minimum information that should be included in a summative evaluation to enhance consistency with PPICS (federal data collection system).
- Sample Tables: Provides examples of tables that, if included in the summative evaluation report, will aid programs in entering PPICS data during the following program year.
