Obtaining employment in tourism, event management, recreation and/or sport requires an intentional effort at building relationships with industry professionals. Networking opportunities are shared weekly through the TRSM Monday Email. For more information about networking opportunities, contact Dr. Craig Schmitt, Director of Engaged Learning & Outreach at firstname.lastname@example.org.
TRSM provides tools and resources to support the personal and professional development of students through individual interactions and experiential opportunities. TRSM students are informed and encouraged to BE RELEVANT by exposure to industry publications and conferences. Students are also encouraged to BUILD YOUR BRAND through individual support related to Professional documents (e.g., resumes, cover letters), and other professional communications/interactions (e.g., the elevator pitch, LinkedIn, informational interviews/networking, job/internship interviews, conference preparation). Lastly, students are provided a variety of opportunities for RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING with professionals in their areas of interest through Networking Events, Campus Guests, Student Organizations, Internships, and Volunteer Opportunities.
