The program develops outstanding clinical professionals who have the expertise to positively promote and advance the athletic training profession. Students gain advanced knowledge in evidence-based, interprofessional, and collaborative practice, while engaging in a patient-centered healthcare program. Concentration areas (orthopedics, manual therapy, sport performance and teaching and leadership) afford students advanced skills, customized to meet their career goals.
The program is fully residential, providing students plenty of face-to-face experience working with some of the nation’s athletic training leaders. Cohorts of up to 14 students engage with faculty and preceptors to further their understanding of the evolving field of athletic training. The University of Florida Doctor of Athletic Training program includes six semesters of enrollment spanning two years.
Students completing the Doctor of Athletic Training and associated concentration, may have a distinct pathway to earn post-graduate certificates, credentials, or other professional practice recognition associated with their concentration.
To receive priority funding consideration, all application steps must be completed by November 15. Review of applications will continue until positions are filled.
