Faculty members in our college fully embrace the opportunities offered for conducting research and discovering knowledge. They search for answers on questions about improving human health. What are basic physiological and neuromuscular mechanisms? How can we change behavior and promote healthy lifestyles? If we create and influence policy, then will our towns, cities, and state of Florida be better places to live and vacation?

Our researchers value completing rigorous projects, sharing the findings with the scientific community, and publishing their articles in high impact journals. In the 2009 – 2010 academic year, our 44 faculty members published 121 refereed articles with 62 of the articles in the top 25% percentile of Social Science and Science journals. Moreover, 85 of the publications involved doctoral students in our graduate programs. Further, a majority of our faculty members are funded by external agencies.
